I McDonald – ‘Your charity is most impressive’
‘I would just like to tell you how much we enjoyed walking the dogs yesterday. Your charity is most impressive, especially the system you have in place for your adoption process. This is very thorough and complete ensuring the right people adopt the right akitas. Now that we have Phoebs at home this is the last step in making our family complete. We have a son, a daughter, a cat and a dog. Phoebs is a lovely dog and has already started to settle into our family life. She has had several introductions to our pet cat Mackie and has been only curious which is a very good start, mackie on the other hand is behaving just like we had hoped and although he is very aware of Phoebs for the most part he ignores her. Thank you very much for all you have done for us and you can rest assured phoebs will be loved and given the very best of care.’
L Munton – ‘A Big Thank You’
‘Thank you so much for tacking care of him, your rescue has kept its word the day you took him a big thank you once again. Your friend Louise’
P Jenkins “I’ve got a peach!”
To all at Friends of Akitas Trust UK.
Three weeks and counting since Amber, my FOA housemate, moved in and made my house a better place to live.
I’d spotted Amber through Dogsblog.com and through various links, I found my way to the FOA website.
Simple process – See dog. Want dog. Get dog.
Clearly not so and nor should it ever be.
Through professional and polite emails/phone calls on your part, I was led through the whole process of registering my interest in Amber, my background with Akitas, my home (including home check) and lifestyle and ultimately my suitability for being allowed to re-home Amber.
In this instance, you don’t pick an Akita – you earn one, lol. And I’ve got a peach.
Almost to the point of disappointment, she’s settled in like the house was built around her. Not a single scratched door, torn item of furniture, messed carpet or escape bid in sight. Although the demeanour of Amber is an irrelevance to the process of getting her, other than being an accurate portrayal of her from her adoption profile, it is also an apt description of the adoption process.
Friendly, fitting and ultimately fulfilling.
Thanks again to all concerned,
Paul Jenkins and Amber
