Missy *remaining with owner*

Missy is a 6 year old female Japanese Akita Inu. She is house trained, understands the basic commands and non destructive. She can be left alone for a few hours although new owners should be prepared and committed to help her settle in first.

Missy can be a little weary or new people and therefore will need someone who is happy to go at her pace until she gets to know them. She will then love the fuss and attention given to her.

While Missy can ignore dogs while out on a walk, unless they run up to her, we feel that Missy is best suited as an only pet.

Missy is a typical Akita. She is independent, loves her family and aloof to strangers. She hasn’t lived with young children therefore we are looking for a child free home or one with older dog savvy children.

Missy would suit a reasonably active household where she isn't left alone for more than a few hours and where she can be given space to settle in.
