Luna

This beautiful girl is Luna who came to us in an emergency and giving birth. She is now looking for her perfect forever home with a family who can give her everything she has missed out on in her short life, being only 2 years old herself.

Luna has clearly led a sheltered life so she is looking for a patient home that is willing to introduce her to new things at her own pace, letting her explore the world outside of living in an outside kennel which is what her life was before coming into foster care with Friends of Akitas. She may benefit from several meets with her potential adopters.

Luna is lead trained and walks amazingly well on a loose lead. She is curious about the world around her, can be wary of large vehicles on roads and will avoid mud and puddles, she obviously doesn’t want anything ruining that lovely long coat of hers.

There are children in Luna’s foster home and she really does like them, a home with children over the age of 10 years would therefore be considered.

Luna lived with a male Akita prior to coming into our care and does have the potential to live with a neutered male canine companion of a similar size again, this would be dependant upon successful introductions. Equally she would be happy to live as an only dog and have all the attention lavished upon herself. She cannot live with cats or free ranging small animals as she does want to chase.

Luna is housetrained, she is very clean and will bark to let you know that she does want to go outside. She has picked up a few toys but has not really played with them but this is something that may interest her in time once she is settled in her new home.

Luna has done a fantastic job at being an amazing mum and raising her 4 pups and now it is her turn to find her forever happiness and the home she truly deserves. If you are interested and think you can offer Luna what she needs then we would love to hear from you.
