Currently, the Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) funds 14 'safe' kennel spaces and on average we care for between 20 and 30 dogs per month. Some of these dogs are in our in our 'safe' kennels, others are in foster care and some still in their existing homes, all waiting for their new forever families to come and give them the love and warmth they all so desperately need.

We also have all of the dogs in our kennels and foster care vaccinated and vet checked, and every dog that comes through the organisation is either microchipped, or has their existing microchip details updated.

Many of the dogs come to us without a collar or lead, some have never had a toy to call their own.

Some of the dogs in our care also need vet treatment for illness. With numbers of abandoned Akitas growing at a steady rate, we need to secure monthly funding to help us to maintain the work we do as a charity and to continue saving the lives of these beautiful dogs.
