This is Boxer, a gorgeous Akita male who appears to have had a pretty horrible life so far. Recently rescued by a well meaning individual, Boxer was subsequently left with a family member who was unable to cope, leading to Boxer ending up in the local pound. Saved now through the kind help of the Stray Dog Sanctuary and GSD rescue, Boxer is now in safe kennels, awaiting a new home. Our assessor met Boxer and found him to be a happy boy, eager to run up wagging to say hello! Very playful, Boxer had a good play with some toys, and has not shown any signs of object possession. Polite and well mannered with treats, Boxer gently took titbits and demonstrated his basic knowledge of commands. Given the life that Boxer appears to have had so far, he seems to have come through this with happiness and confidence, resulting in a lovely, well balanced young man.
